Oh Puddles

Oh! the puddles
life's a muddle
clothes all muddy
and cant be cuddled

Oh! the puddles
what a muddle
toddlers in a waddle
jumping into puddles

Clad in bright raincoats and wellingtons
ready in a huddle
in front of puddles
waiting for unsuspecting muggles

One jumps in
the others follow
muddy splashes all over
that land around split and splat

They laugh in frenzy at a lady in pink
who jumps about to no avail
her skirt all drenched
and no more clean
now,pink with rage
she screeches and screams
and hurries back in
for something clean.

Oh! the puddles
life's a muddle
clothes all muddy
and cant be cuddled.

    life's a muddle
    smiles are muddy
    just left to struggle!

    looking at the chuckles
    i be the mud

    1. Hey,well i guess u didnt read the whole thing....this poem isnt dark its about children and toddlers who wait for passer bys to jump into puddles.Splashing water all over them...The sheer fun of it... the reason lifes a muddle is coz u really cant prevent ur kids from playing in the rain and as parent u r in a dilemma on whether you should let them have their share of fun in the rain or not. Their clothes end up muddy and no matter how cute and adorable they look u cant cuddle them coz thy are drenched in dirty water

  2. Hi,

Nicely put and very original.I love the way you have played with the words. And as a parent I totally agree with you my three year old gets home all drenched, after a hearty splashing on his way home from Kindergarten.

    Nice work.
